Recently, Mo Yan, a Nobel Prize-winning author, shared in a post that he had visited the Poli Fair in Qingdao, where he kept strolling and snacking along the way. He exclaimed with genuine feeling, "So delicious! Happiness is just this simple." He also noted that the fair reflects the economic state of the rural area - the more prosperous the fair, the more developed the economy, and the better the lives of the local people.
The Poli Fair, located in Poli Town, Qingdao West Coast New Area, is a traditional folk market with a history of over 300 years. Originating alongside Poli Town itself, it has long served as a vital hub for the exchange of rural production supplies, daily necessities, and agricultural produce in the region. Covering an area of more than 160mu(approximately 10.7 hectares), the fair features 32 functional zones and 1,600 trading stalls. Today, it stands as the oldest and largest market in the Qingdao area, and is held on the 4th and 9th days of every lunar month.
